JRP is proud to be the Building Services Consultant for the first mega-scale infrastructure project between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.  Construction works  commenced in October 2005 and completed in June 2007.

On 1 July 2007, President Hu Jintao officially opened the Shenzhen Bay Port and the Shenzhen Bay Bridge – also known as the Hong Kong Shenzhen Western Corridor.

The project covers the design & construction of boundary crossing facilities on a site of about 425,000 sqm at Shekou in Shenzhen for Shenzhen Western Corridor and the associated land development.  The development provides the operational and supporting facilities for use by seven departments including Immigration Department, Customs and Excise Department, Hong Kong Police Force, Fire Services Department, Department of Health, Transport Department, and Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the Government of the HKSAR.  It primarily provides clearance facilities for coaches and passenger traffic. The Passenger Terminal Building's interior is divided into two symmetrical parts to accommodate the immigration, customs, inspection and quarantine facilities of both the Hong Kong and Shenzhen sides. It is estimated that the new control point will be able to handle a peak hourly traffic of about 150 coaches, 1,640 private cars and 2,600 goods vehicles per direction and also earmarked an area of about 6,000 sqm as a public transport drop-off and pick-up area.
