Starting from 1 November 2022, passengers can conveniently travel between Terminal 1 (T1) and T1 Satellite Concourse (T1S) at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) via Sky Bridge, a new 200m-long and 20m-width footbridge equipped with escalators and automated walkway. The 200m footbridge consists of a fully air-conditioned main bridge spanning over the existing taxilane B7. It is equipped with travelators and feature an observation deck and catering outlets in the towers at both sides, providing scenic and relaxation spaces for passengers. At 200 metres, the Sky Bridge connecting Terminal 1 with the North Satellite Concourse is longer than the connecting bridge at Gatwick Airport near London, but slightly lower at 28 metres in height. But it is still high enough to allow the world’s biggest passenger planes A380 to taxi underneath.
