This project is developed towards a new Tier IV new generation data centre (NGDC) with Information technology (IT) office at Hong Kong’s Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate (TKOIE).

The NGDC is to consolidate the existing backup data centres, IT offices and IT equipment and to become the primary data centre after completion of data centre relocation, and to cater for long term development needs.

A 5-Storey Building with 1 Basement Floor for water tank and E&M plants. The G/F is used for Supporting Facilities and Carpark, 1/F to 3/F are used for Data Centre and 5/F are used for Office. The total GFA for this project is 27,500 m2 Total 5 nos of Data Hall (3 nos of Data Hall are for future) are provided and each with about 900 m2. JRP is the in-house consultant under the Architect to ensure that sustainability design are in compliance of client’s requirements.

JRP act as Architect sub-consultant for Design and Sustainability Adviser to advise the builder’s work requirement for Data Centre and advise Architect on Tier 4 requirement in Architectural point of view for both TIA-942-2 and Performance Standards and Operational Sustainability. Review the Data Centre Mockup with Architect and help Architect to arrange the rack layout in the Data Centre, review shop drawings from Contractors on builders work requirement.
